From 1909 to the present, the building that houses the permanent art collection of the Orchard Lake Schools has had a storied history. What once was the Dining Hall of the Michigan Military Academy became the central chapel of SS.Cyril and Methodius Seminary, St. Mary’s College, and St. Mary’s Preparatory and as such the scene of daily Mass, religious services, ordinations and retreats. With the completion of the Shrine Chapel in 1963, an Art Gallery was established to house the schools’ collection of treasures.
