Join us on September 20 to commemorate Poland’s Role in World War II
Three Time Emmy® Award winning national TV host, veteran correspondent and New York Times bestselling author Rita Cosby will appear at The Polish Mission to discuss her acclaimed new book, Quiet Hero: Secrets From My Father’s Past. In this compelling memoir, Rita recounts how she discovered the long-hidden truth about her father’s experiences as a resistance fighter in Nazi-occupied Poland. All are invited to attend a dinner and book signing with Rita, on Tuesday, September 20, where she will read excerpts from the book, and discuss her journey through her father’s past in WWII. Poles experienced the most extreme oppression of any nation under Nazi occupation, and Ms. Cosby’s re-telling of that story through her own unique perspective sheds new light on powerful memories.
A private reception for Polish military veterans and their families will start at 5:00 pm at the St. Mary’s Athletic Center (SMAC), located on the campus of Orchard Lake Schools at 3535 Indian Trail Rd., Orchard Lake, MI 48324. Doors will open to the general public at 6:00 pm, and a Polish dinner will be served at 6:15 pm. Ms. Cosby will speak at 7:15 pm.
Tickets are required, and can be purchased for $25/person or $40/couple online here, or by calling Orchard Lake Schools at 248.683.0323. Copies of Quiet Hero may be purchased onsite.
See you there!
