FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE —

Grand Piano Dedication Concert to Feature Notable Performers as Part of 225th Anniversary of Polish Constitution Day at OLS Campus

ORCHARD LAKE, Mich. (4-26-2016) – On Sunday, May 1, 2016, numerous talented musicians will perform at the Grand Piano Dedication Concert at the Shrine Chapel of Our Lady of Orchard Lake, including Yuki and Tomoko Mack, Kazimierz Brzozowski, Michael Zaporski and members of the St. Mary’s Prep Band lead by director, Josh James. The concert, in honor of the Nick and Joan Spiroff family who donated the piano to the Orchard Lake Schools, is open to the community and is part of the 225th Anniversary celebration of Polish Constitution Day on the historic campus of the Orchard Lake Schools.

“Our very dear friends invited us to the Chancellor’s Christmas Concert in the Shrine Chapel over the last two years,” said Joan Spiroff. “We sat in the front pew and looked at the piano during last December’s concert and thought, ‘Gee, this is a beautiful chapel but the piano needs some work.’  After the performance, the musician apologized to us for the piano being a bit out of tune. We said, ‘No, it just needs some help.’ After leaving the post-concert dinner in the banquet room, Nick and I talked on our way home that, thanks to the invitation from our friends and the fact that they do so much for our friendship and the lives of others, we’d like to donate [a piano] to the chapel.”

The public is invited to join in The Polish Mission’s annual event, commemorating the 225th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of 1791, which begins with a 1:00 p.m. Mass at the Shrine Chapel. Witness a special presentation by the Dabrowski Polish Language School students that showcases their achievements. Visit the Galeria for a special program and exhibition of royal correspondence from the archives as well as a traveling exhibit from the Polish Cultural Foundation in Boston.

The 4:00 p.m. dedication concert is expected to last approximately 60-75 minutes. For more information, visit www.polishmission.com, or call (248) 683-0433.
