To the Manor Born

manor born web graphicYou’re invited to a Polish Genealogy workshop & Salon in Orchard Lake!

Genealogists from The Polish Mission Ceil Jensen and Hal Learman present a special workshop that will explore the lavish elegance of yesteryear and the people who worked behind the scenes for wealthy estate owners.

Many of our ancestors worked on manorial estates before coming to America. Our Saturday “Salon” – To The Manor Born will explore many aspects of this lifestyle. Ceil will present records, maps, and histories of three estates – Rogalin, Biltmore, and Downton Abbey. Enjoy salon music with Soprano Deborah Frontczak; participate in a Polish High Tea; watch our Executive Chef, Eric Wilson, demonstrate some of his favorite recipes; and listen to Ola Heska read selected passages from the  memoirs of Count Edward Raczyński, owner of the palace of Rogalin.
